Floods:Obi wants FGN to assist Onitsha


The federal government has been called upon to revive
the Onitsha Harbour Industrial Estate.
The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi made the call when he visited the estate yesterday.
Obi said the revival of the Onitsha harbour Industrial Estate was so urgent because it was the seat of organised private sector in Anambra State.
Obi made these remarks today via his verified Twitter account.
The presidential candidate lamented that majority of the inustries there suffered infrastructural losses from floods and the burden of production.
The presidential hopeful tweeted:’Yesterday, I visited the Onitsha harbour Industrial Estate, the seat of organised private sector in Anambra state. Majority of the industries there suffered infrastructural losses from the recent floods, plus the added burden production and manpower hour losses.
They will need Federal assistance.’
