Nature bared its fangs as ravaging floods submerged five local government areas in Delta State and thousands of people rendered homeless.
Thousands of houses are under water and hundred of thousands without homes.
Cars, television, furniture and other household items running into millions of Naira destroyed.
Hunger is also looming in the affected local government areas as thousands of farms and crops are under water.
The affected local government areas are Oshimili South, Ndokwa East, Isoko North, Isoko South and Patani.
In Oshimili South, the entire Oko community is sacked as floods overran the community.
In Asaba, residents of Infant Jesus are now refugees in other parts of the capital city.
Ndokwa East is the epic centre of the flood as the entire lGA is under water.
Aboh, the headquarters of the council is totally covered with water.
The council chairman, councilors and staff are in compulsory holiday as the council Secretariat is under water.
Ashaka, Igbuku and Ibrede are cut off. Between kwale and Ashaka, close to Mater Dei Grammar school is massive water and only canoe is the means of transportation.
Between Ibrede and Ofagbe road is also cut off by floods.
The Ushie Ashaka road is also flooded.
The situation is worse in Iyede Ame, Lagos Iyede and Onogbokor.
The homeless people are appealing to the Delta State Government to save them from starvation and death.
Chief Ajie Ogwu, president general of Aboh development Union made a passionate plea for food items and that government should not give them building materials.
In Isoko North, the badly affected communities are Ellu, Ovrode and Ofagbe.
The three communities are cut off by floods with hundred of houses under water.
The story is a disaster in Isoko South LGA as Irri, Emede, Uzere and Aviara are under water and cut off from other towns in the LGA.
Farms and houses are destroyed.
In the case of Patani, half of the town is under water.
The Pond news understands that unless urgent action is taken by the state government, famine and diseases are waiting to happen.
