Flood has sacked more than eighty per cent of Ndokwa East LGA in Delta State rendering thousands of people homeless.
The flood also destroyed crops running into millions of Naira.
Aboh ,the headquarters of the council is badly affected as the council workers can not access the local council Secretariat.
Engineer Ajie Ogwu, the president general of Aboh Development Union in telephone interview said that his people face famine as all their crops have been destroyed.
Ogwu called on the state government to send food items and not building materials.
He asked the government to send early yielding variety of crops so that his people could harvest their crops before the coming of floods in the next farming season.
The Pond news understands that out of the 73 communities that make up the local government areas, 65 have been submerged by flood.
The communities not affected by flood yet are Isselegu,Ushie, Ashaka, Igbuku and Ibrede.
Speaking to The Pond news, the council chairman,Juan Governor lamented the loss of farm produce, adding that ‘flood has taken over about 80 per cent of our council and there is possibility of more communities getting submerged in the next few weeks.’
