In a bold move to harness the power of technology and sustainable development, H.E. Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, under the office of his Special Assistant on SDGs, proudly launches the Impact SDG Tech Project in partnership with the Power Learn Project Africa.

This transformative initiative will provide a fully funded, 16-week online Software Development Scholarship to 1,000 Delta youths, positioning them for success in today’s fast-paced digital world.

Why This Initiative Matters

In an era where digital skills are essential for career advancement and innovation, this project is set to empower Delta State’s youth, one of the region’s most dynamic and promising demographics.

With over 1.2 million young people in Delta State, this initiative directly addresses unemployment and the growing need for market-ready skills, while also aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education (SDG 4) and Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8).

Key Features of the Scholarship Program:

  • Comprehensive Curriculum: Participants will master essential modules including Python, Web Development, Databases, Dart with Flutter, along with Soft Skills and Entrepreneurship.
  • 16-Week Intensive Training: A deep dive into software development ensures that participants acquire robust, market-ready skills.
  • Certification: Graduates will receive a specialized certificate, validating their expertise and opening doors to future career opportunities.
  • Community Engagement: The program fosters connections among peers, mentors, and industry experts, creating a vibrant ecosystem for continuous learning and collaboration.

  • Voices from the Initiative
Lady Diana Ereyitomi Enoette, Special Assistant on SDGs, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “After nearly a year of detailed discussions, I am excited to introduce this cutting-edge technology training to Delta State. The success witnessed in Lagos is now set to benefit our local youth under the visionary leadership of the 2024 Most Impactful Governor. Delta State in 2025 is poised to achieve even greater milestones through the SDGs.”

Mrs. Ajo Balogun of the PLP Group added, “As a proud Deltan, I see this as a remarkable opportunity to bring global market skills to our community. I am thrilled to work alongside the Special Assistant on SDGs, whose technical expertise, political will, and passion for Delta State’s development are truly commendable.”
