Election observers yesterday said the presidential and national assembly elections were not credible and that INEC compromised the integrity of the electoral process.
Addressing the press in Asaba, Mrs Nuhu Jessica on behalf Civil Society Independent Electoral Commission Accredited Observers Coalition said that there were too many irregularities in the election to make it credible.
The group said that INEC cooked up figures that were at variance with what happened in the field.
The observers maintained that the deliberate refusal of INEC officials to transmit the result into INEC result viewing portal was clear disobedience of electoral law making the outcome to be a charade.
The group noted that many polling units in Delta State did not open in time making many people not to vote in the elections.
They also noted that the logistics arrangements were poor and below international standards.
The group ,however, lauded the security agencies for carrying out their duties in a professional manner.
They called on political parties and their supporters to maintain peace and seek redress in the courts.
Speaking on the sideline, the senior special assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on civil engagement , Comrade Rex Anighoro called for the resignation of INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu for not conducting credible elections.
