The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education ,Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu within the week in Asaba bagged the Nelson Mandela Grow Africa Prize for Excellence
The award was given to Ashibogwu by Grow Africa Youth Initiative for his hard work and dedication to national development.
Receiving the award, Ashibogwu expressed gratitude to group and described it as very inspiring.
Said the Commissioner::The award is for development and overall growth of Africa by Africans. Africa is ours and it is only we the Africans that can develop Africa.:
He promised to continue to partner with the body in promoting human capital development and selfless leadership style with a positive transformation of tertiary education in Delta State.
The commissioner observed that the award would motivate him to continue to serve humanity.
Presenting the award in the Commissioner’s office ,the President of Grow Africa Youth Initiative, Mr. Notchiso Toure, disclosed that the group is an “Africa Based Youth Organisation with the core objectives of Pan-Africanism, Leadership and Entrepreneurship for the purpose of building Africa of our dream.”
He stated that they were committed to providing Africa with competent and intellectually equipped young people who would champion the course of Pan-Africanism.
