Delta shines at Lagos Trade Fair

By Julie Otoikhine

Delta State has among other states participated in the ongoing 2022 Lagos International Trade Fair with a stand, showcasing the products of the state to the admiration of all.

The fair which is organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) brings into focus the full potentials and business opportunities existing in Nigeria and the rest of the world; providing a unique opportunity for exhibitors to present their products and new ideas.

Expressing great joy, Assistant Director, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Delta State, Mr David Ejenugbor in an interview with newsmen at the Tafawa Balewa Square , said they were happy Delta State made it to the fair.

Mr Ejenugbor said they came with 18 exhibitors with various local products from Delta State

The products, he said, included the native Anioma’s “Akwa ocha” in diverse colours, refined palm oil from IMC Plantation Limited, Nsukwa, Mix Cereal meals, Tabioka of various flavours of the Urhobos, among others.

Speaking further, Ejenugbor decried the exception of the “Delta Day” at the event due to non approval and lack of fund for the presentation in Lagos.

This, he said would have gone a long way to boost Delta presence more at the fair.

“The other challenge we have here is that we are experiencing poor sales as a result of low turn out of people at the fair,” Ejenugbor said.

He encouraged all around, especially Deltans residing in Lagos, to visit the pavilion and patronise them.

In a similar development, Mr Favour Akpochimora, an Exhibitor and Mrs Gloria Umukotete took time to advertise Delta products to all around, including various schools that came for excursion among whom were students from The Home Science Secondary School.
