Towards the successful hosting of the 21st National Sports Festival, the Delta State Government has approved the construction of male and female hostels of 240 bed spaces at the Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
The State Commissioner of Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu disclosed this within the week while speaking to reporters after the state executive council meeting.
Aniagwu said the hostels shall not only accommodate the athletes, they shall become the property of the university at end of the games.
The government spokesman stated that the state was ready to show case the traditional hospitality of Deltans.
He also said that there shall be construction of indoor sports complex inside the Stephen Keshi stadium for short range games.
On education, he maintained that additional lecture hall is to be constructed at the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko in Warri South West LGA.
In another development, Aniagwu said that government has approved the appointment of JohnHolt Ologho as the regent of Emevor kingdom in Isoko North LGA.
