Information Ministry without PS

A dangerous scenario is playing out in the Ministry of Information.

Both the Head of Service and the secretary to state government are dissembling that things were alright.

Since the retirement of Paul Osahon , the ministry has been plagued with the funny name of functioning permanent secretary.

Translation : no staff in the Ministry is qualified to be a substantive permanent. Mr Omokri was there for about two years and retired as functioning permanent secretary.

Currently a seasoned communicator Mrs Theresa Oliko Abua is there and running into a year.

Interestingly all these ugly warts are popping up under the leadership of Mr Charles Aniagwu.

What is so difficult in appointing a seasoned journalist in the Ministry as permanent secretary?

What are the political constraints?

Unfortunately, the state chairman of NUJ Comrade Churchill Oyowe has not seen the wisdom of speaking about this serious issue.

The pity of journalists is that we are experts in championing other people causes but develop cold feet and remain dumb about our own affairs .

Maybe the MORE Agenda is not meant for Ministry of Information staff whose duty are to publicize the activities of the government. It is very unfortunate

Multiple appointments

Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu
Is the chairman of DPPCL board who carried the most brutal amputation of The Pointer newspaper.

But that is not the reason we are writing about him.

Rather it is about the multiple appointments he is husbanding in the
Oborevwori administration.

He is also executive director of DESOPADEC.

The question is that the man is so gifted that he could hold two positions and that he worked more than some people in Delta state.

This culture of entitlement is very bad.

A similar scenario is playing out in the Ministry of Works and Ministry of Information.

Currently Mr Charles Aniagwu is Commissioner of Works Rural Roads and Commissioner of information.

This is not tidy at all.

The impression is that there are some Deltans who are more Deltan than others.

APC Youths and leadership

The youths of All Progressive Congress in Delta state are becoming restless and agitated about the effects of democracy on them.

They are not happy with Senators Ede Dafinone and Joel Onowakpo Thomas. They are also angry with the Aviation Minister Chief Festus Keyamo .

They are calling on these politicians to publish their achievements and names of those empowered or appointed through them.

The names of those appointed can’t be published because of its ripple implications.

However, these politicians should regularly meet their constituents and explain issues to them.

Some of the politicians are becoming aloof and this should not be the case

The youths must also know that APC in the state has legislative power and that the executive power controls more resources .

And that is the singular reason that all hands should be on deck to win the 2027 governorship polls.
