Issele Azagba/
Otulu Road controversy

Throughout the week, the media aides to Honourable Ndidi Elumelu former House of Representatives member and Honourable Emeka Nwaobi member of the Delta State House of Assembly were at war.

The bone of contention was the Issele Azagba Otulu road project.

Both men claimed to have influenced the project to Aniocha North LGA.

However, The Pond News investigation revealed that the road project was actually awarded by the government of Sheriff Oborevwori in line with the MORE agenda.

Translation; Both men are liars and claiming credit for what they did not do.

This is the stripe of politicians that plague the entire political space.

Even more confounding is the silence of the governor media handlers about the project.

It is beyond airing the commencement of the project on tv.

An appropriate press statement should have shamed these men.

Kwale Beneku Bridge

What is becoming infamous of the present government is awarding contracts to contractors that would either do substandard work or abandon the project.

The recent Sapele citizen journalist exposing bad roads in the city is one.

Reliable source told The Pond News that the road was awarded to a former state PDP chairman.

Today the newly constructed Kwale Beneku Bridge in Ndokwa East local government areas is already showing visible cracks that need urgent repairs.

Many questions must be answered. Who is the contractor? Who are those ministry of works engineers that okay the job and subsequent payment?

The truth of the matter is that government officials are culpable as far as poor quality jobs are concerned.

The governor cannot be everywhere hence the presence of commissioners.

It is a good thing that in the Ministry of Works, there are two commissioners.

The Kwale Beneku Bridge shame must be addressed.

Warri N2bn supplementary budget

A council chairman in Delta State presented a supplementary budget of two billion Naira.

The Warri council chairman is saying that two billion Naira would be spent in two months – November and December.

It means that the budget for the council would be in the neighborhood of N24bn.

It is a huge amount of money if well utilized.

The man should tell us what was the budget of his predecessor? How much did he meet in the treasury?

What the direct federal allocation to councils, it would be more profitable to be a council chairman than a state commissioner.

It is high time members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm began to focus on council chairmen.
