Bogus media award
Last week, Silverbird Television gave an award to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his achievements in office.
In fact the media house named him Governor of the Year.
It is true that the mass media performs the function of reporting on the activities of public officers especially politicians.
But media watchers in Delta State see the Silverbird award in the realm of sycophancy and propaganda.
Since May 29 , 2023 this government has acquired unique but dubious distinction of slogans.
The MORE agenda is yet to get concrete results on ground and that the achievements are only visible in the media space.

Council chairman last minute looting
The council chairmen tenure ended yesterday.
But that is not the news.
The news is that one council chairman in Delta South senatorial district, in the Warri axis on Friday invited soldiers to the council for the wrong reason.
The soldiers forced the councillors to pass and sign 2024 budget.
This is larceny by every definition.
The governor should investigate this matter and bring the erring former council chairman to justice.
Agreed that the man at the eye of the storm is a PDP man but the matter should not be swept under the carpet because of party politics.

Pupils learn! on bare floor
It is scandalous that primary school pupils in oil rich Delta State sit on bare floor to learn.
A trending video shows pupil in Delta Central senatorial district, Ughelli axis, speaking Urhobo and learning on bare floor.
In plain language, the pupils have no chairs.
To add insult to injury, primary one class and primary two class were in one dusty classroom.
Yet the government is shouting the MORE agenda.
It is also in Delta State that every department in the Ministry of Education is converted to a fullfledged ministry.
This is definitely how not to run an administration that places premium on quality education.
