The shame of Asaba Airport
The Asaba International airport was a star project of the Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan administration.
It opened a floodgate of business activities in the state.
The state capital economic profile peaked as people in the South South, South East use the airport as gateway to their regions.
But today, the sad aspect of this development is that the road leading to the airport is riddled with pot holes.
So what is the management of the airport doing?
Are they waiting for the state government to fix the road?
The airport was given to a private company to run under the Okowa administration.
The private company must be making some profit and the more reason they should fix the road.
The road is the first impression to a visitor and should not be sending bad signal to visitors.
Or in the alternative, the government should revoke the contract with private firm and do the needful.

State legislators, primaries and constituency projects.

A time for reckoning is now for the members of Delta State House of Assembly including the principal officers.
This year is that of primaries and actual elections.
Questions would be asked by the constituents.
The masses are not moved by the distribution of rice during the Christmas.
Same with the so called palliatives given to them by the state legislators.
What did the legislators do with the constituency funds?
How much is the constituency projects funds?
Why is the Speaker not telling Deltans the amount?
The masses as the owners of electoral sovereignty have the rights to know the money the legislators are collecting on their behalf.
It is called accountability and transparency.
For those hoping to go back to the State House of Assembly, these are the measures of their achievements.
For too longer, politicians have taken the people for a ride.

Okowa and Nwoko foot soldiers

The battle for the soul of Delta North as to who become their senator has just began.
The foot soldiers of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor started the battle.
Even without the prompting of Okowa, they have started to campaign for Okowa.
For a man who served as governor for eight years and four years in the senate, such a person deserves rest and others should be given opportunity to serve.
It is only Senator Ned Nwoko who even for a split second has not hidden his desire to return to the senate.
Apart from his many achievements in the senate and massive empowerment programmes in Delta North, the creation of Anioma state is the most compelling reason, Ned Nwoko should be given a second chance.
The people of Delta North should put aside sentiments and vote for a promise keeper.
The party primaries for the senatorial election on the platform of APC shall be a battle royale of cash and structures in Delta North.
The Ndokwa nation shall decide the fate of the two political heavyweights.
