The Delta State Government, in collaboration with the National Population Commission (NPC), will hold a one-day summit on the 2023 National Population and Housing Census for stakeholders on Thursday, 13th October, 2022 at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, from 10am.
The theme of the stakeholders’ summit is “2023 Getting People Involved” and the aim is to mobilize and sensitize critical stakeholders in the state on the forthcoming population census.
The Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is expected to deliver a keynote address and perform the presentation of the 2023 census project document, while goodwill messages and lectures will also be delivered amidst series of technical sessions.
Those expected to attend the stakeholders’ summit are representatives of professional associations, labour unions, organized private sector, academia and research organizations, military, paramilitary, other security agencies and civil society organizations.
Others include religious organisations, traditional rulers, Local Government Council Chairmen, Delta State Ministries of Economic Planning, Education, Health and Directorate of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, amongst others.
According to a statement from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, invitations have already been sent out to concerned stakeholders.
