The raging fuel and Naira scarcity rocking the country has taken a new turn with APC and PDP blaming each other for the crisis.
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu fired the first salvo by accusing the opposition PDP of using the petrol and Naira notes scarcity to scuttle the polls.
Speaking in Abuja yesterday ,the APC presidential candidate argued that the opposition faced with defeat was now trying to use the fuel and Naira scarcity to derail the national polls.
Said Tinubu :’What the opposition and enemies of democracy want is to create a state of national siege and tension that can disrupt the coming general election and create an atmosphere of strife in our country’.
Responding the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organization said that Tinubu was hoarding the new Naira notes to punish Nigerians and use same to buy voters during election.
A spokesman for the PDP ,Mr Kola Ologbodiyan argued that APC should blame the Buhari administration for the present national crisis.
Said Ologbodiyan:’Our campaign organization is alarmed by the exposed plot of Tinubu campaign and some APC governors to secretly swap a whopping N22.5 billion old N1,000 notes for new notes in Kano as well as Lagos State where they will be warehoused for vote buying for deflated Tinubu campaign.’
The Pond News understands that apart from this political attack and counter attack, INEC chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu has warned that if these crisis continued, the February 25 polls might not hold.
