A major crisis is rocking the camp of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the inability of the group to name their preferred presidential candidate.
The five PDP state governors under the leadership of Wike are opposed to the national leader of the party Dr Iyorcha Ayu.
The group vowed that as long as Ayu remains the national chairman, they would not work for the PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
However , the Wike group could not name their preferred presidential candidate in January 2023 as promised by Wike in December last year.
The Pond News understands that while some want the APC presidential candidate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, others prefer the Labour Party presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi
A source close to the group confided in The Pond News that individual governors have decided to support any presidential candidate without making it known to the public.
This position, The Pond News understands is not make the PDP lose in governorship elections in the five states where the governors have strong political interest.
