The Delta State Information Commissioner, Mr Charles Aniagwu has charged lazy and unproductive staff to be alive to their official responsibilities.
Aniagwu frowned at a situation where some Information Officers would refused to send stories to the ministry headquarters, adding that his administration would no longer tolerate such work attitude.
The commissioner gave the warning yesterday in Asaba while receiving a report of a two day workshop on effective communication skills held in Abuja recently.
He disclosed that the criteria for selecting the 25 information officers was based on merit, hardwork and dedication to duty.
He therefore charged those who attended the workshop to use the newly acquired skills to enhance their job performances.
He said that the training became necessary to expose the participants to modern trends in mass communication.
Speaking earlier, the Director of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko commended the Information Commissioner for his fatherly role to all staff and support during the Abuja workshop, calling on the staff to put in their best in the discharge of official duties.
