Chevron:Oil communities demand social amenities

Leaders of some oil bearing communities in Warri North local government areas of Delta State have called on Chevron Nigeria limited to look into the demands of protesters from Ijaw and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities.
Addressing the protesters from Opuama, Tsekelewu-Polobubo and Dinkoru community of Egbema kingdom at Chevron Olero field, Mr Marckson Aboh said that the demands of the protesters should be addressed.
Aboh speaking on behalf of the communities leaders listed the demands of the protesters as employment, scholarship for the indigenes, development of their communities and provision of social amenities.
He said that this was the first the Ijaws and Itsekiris were speaking with one voice.
Aboh appealed to Chevron to do the needful as the company was exploring the resources of the oil bearing communities.
