President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to the democratic process and does not intend to handover to interim government.
Mallam Garba Shehu presidential spoke made this clear today in a statement.
Shehu stated that those promoting the idea of interim government were enemies of Nigeria and should be ignored.
He emphatically stated that there was no truth in the claim that Buhari was working towards interim government or truncating democracy.
These sentiments were shared by Shehu via his verified Twitter account.
The presidential spokesman maintained that any talk about interim government was off the mark.
He stated those who peddle the interim government were meant to create panic and incitement against the federal government.
He tweeted thus:”Let us clearly, specifically and emphatically state that there is absolutely no truth to the claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is working towards an interim government or even worse, the truncation of democracy – democracy that he has helped to keep alive not only here at home, in West Africa but throughout the continent. The talk of interim government is way off the mark. Those who peddle it stand to gain nothing – nothing at all – but the creation of panic and the incitement of the public against the federal government.”
The Pond News understands that there is tension in the country against the backdrop of fuel and Naira notes scarcity.
It is hoped that next week presidential and national assembly elections hold within the province of human weaknesses.
