A medical doctor, Dr Frederick Nwaeke has criticized the habit of giving parents or relatives expensive burial.
Nwaeke said it was painful to know that when such people were alive, they were abandoned by their children or relatives, adding that such expensive burials amounted to nothing.
Nwaeke who is the chief medical officer of Health Bridge Hospital and Maternity, Ogwashi uku in Aniocha South LGA, Delta State made this observation recently while speaking to reporters.
The medical doctor therefore advised children to take good care of their parents.
He also decried the practice of building new houses for parents when they were already dead.
Nwaeke advised people on regular medical checkup saying that health centres should not only be visited when people fall sick.
