The PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has condemned in strong terms the disruption of PDP rally in Kaduna by suspected thugs.
Atiku said the action was not only undemocratic but also against the peace accord signed by all the political parties.
Expressing his anger and bitterness via his verified Twitter account today, Atiku urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use his powers to stop the ugly trend of political thuggery.
He also called on political leaders to call their members and supporters to order.
The presidential hopeful pledged his commitment to free, fair and safe elections.
Atiku tweeted:’I have just received emergency reports of attacks on PDP supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago.
I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to call on all parties to call their supporters and members to order and to ensure that campaigns, just as with the elections themselves, are kept free, fair and safe.’
