Traders at the famous Ogbogonogo market ,Asaba Delta State today rejected the old Naira notes of N1,000, N500 and N200 as means of economic transactions.
A visit by The Pond News to the market revealed that most traders insisted on the redesigned Naira notes despite the plea of this reporter that the Supreme Court ruling within the week making the old ones still legal tender.
A trader who simply identified herself as Peace said February 10 was the deadline on the expiration of the old notes.
Similarly taxi drivers and Keke riders also rejected the old notes.
The Pond News reported yesterday that the NNPC petrol station along Okpanam road, near the Midwifery market, Asaba rejected the old Naira notes.
The Pond News understands that more petrol stations in Asaba rejected the old Naira notes today.
