The Delta State chapter of All Progressives Congress APC has canvassed for a democracy where the will of the people are respected and no single individual lords it over the people.
Mr Kotor Esiri canvassed this view yesterday while announcing the formation of Delta State Core Comrades for OVIENEBI (DSCC).
Esiri said that the inaugural ceremony will take place tomorrow at Senator Ovie Omo-Agege campaign office, Asaba.
Esiri stated that the task of salvaging Delta State was too heavy and required the maturity,quiet dignity and broad vision of the Omo-Agege/Osanebi ticket.
He therefore called on Deltans to support APC in the next governorship election.
Said Esiri:’ In a democracy, it is dangerous to give power to self-righteous zealots who do not subscribe to the rule of law and the will of the people. There is more to leadership than exuberant passion’.
The DSCC convener said the aim of the political pressure group was to get Comrades from all parts of the state to mobilize for the party and its governorship candidate.
About 25 socio-cultural and political groups are expected to attend the ceremony.
Esiri disclosed that APC bigwigs including the deputy governorship candidate Honourable Friday Osanebi are to grace the ceremony.
