Corps members have been told to cultivate and renew relationship with people in the course of their service year.
Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu gave the charge recently
during a sendoff party organised by the Ministry of Information for the outgoing Batch C, Stream Two Corps Members that served in the ministry.
Aniagwu reasoned that the service year for corps member was a transitory between being a student and active work life, saying that corps members should use the period not only to make lasting friendship but renew soured ones.
While congratulating the outgoing corps members on their successful service to the nation, he explained that relationship could either be beneficial from either the top to bottom or bottom to top, saying it would be wrong to undermine corps members, and equally bad for them to discountenance their present relationships.
He lamented that a lot of people pray amiss, expecting God to answer them directly, stressing that the answers to prayer lay in the people we meet on daily basis and emphasised on the need to be nice to one another.
The commissioner advised the corps members to put into meaningfully use the cognate experience garnered in the ministry and the skills acquired, adding that they would be valued based on what they had to offer.
“By God’s grace I hope that in no distance time those of you who desires a white collar job and those who desire to take advantage of the skills acquired in the course of time will be able to find a place to apply such skills so that you will be useful not only to yourself, but to your parents and the society at large Aniagwu prayed, he said.”
In a vote of thanks, outgoing corps members, Mr Oluwafemi Arewelo, on behalf of his colleagues thanked the commissioner, management and staff of the ministry for the love and kind gesture shown them during their one year service in the ministry.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing corps members by the commissioner. The corps members, likewise, presented gifts presented gifts to the commissioner and the Functioning Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Lucky Omokri.
Ten corps members in all served in the Batch C, Stream Two in the Ministry of Information.
