Despite the youths protests that rocked Isoko nation, the disapproval of Okpe Union, the faculty of management sciences will commence studies at Orerokpe campus on October 2024.
The state governor ,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori made this disclosure yesterday on visit to Orerokpe technical college, the site of the campus of Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro.
Said the governor : Recently the governing council of the university of Science and Technology Ozoro approved the faculty not management sciences here in Orerokpe. The site that was proposed for the faculty is the Orerokpe technical college that is under construction.’
The Pond News understands that the proposed site is a virgin land and government would spend billions of Naira to build infrastructures like lecture halls and administrative buildings.
Such facilities are already in Ozoro.
It would be recalled that Isoko Development Union met the governor in Asaba and pleaded with him not to move the faculty of management sciences to Orerokpe.
On the part of Okpe Union, the body advised the governor not to establish faculty of management sciences but to establish a university of education in Orerokpe.
All these pleas felt on deaf ears.
